The Women in Analytics Award has been launched in the frame of the 34th International Symposium on Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis (PBA 2024) to empower early-career women in analytical chemistry and related fields. This award is sponsored by Novartis and aims to support their professional development by allocating funds for receiving specialized training, laboratory visits to acquire new skills or attending workshops/courses.

Documents to submit:
The following documents must be submitted electronically by September 5th, 2024 to isabel.meister@unige.ch:
- A 2-page statement detailing three significant past achievements (max. 1 page; achievements are not limited to academic publications but can include innovation, mentoring or outreach activities) and future career goals (about 1⁄2 page). The candidate must then describe (about 1⁄2 page) how the award will be used (e.g. external lab visit, specialized course, workshop, training) and how it will contribute to her career. Relevant details related to the use of this award (i.e., location, date, link to online information) should be included.

- A proof of attendance to PBA 2024
Eligibility criteria and conditions:
The applicants must be women scientists holding a PhD and pursuing a career in the field of analytical chemistry. Only candidates within 10 years after the date of their PhD defense will be considered (+18 month extension for each child born after the PhD defence. In case of sick leave or caring duties: extension equivalent to the period of leave). In addition, the candidate must attend PBA 2024 in person (for the winner, including being present at the Closing Ceremony to receive the award). After completing the supported project, the recipient must provide a 1-page report detailing the work undertaken.
Evaluation criteria:
Previous impact of the candidate’s work (based on the CV and the description of 3 past achievements): 50%.
Expected impact of the award (based on consistency between career goals and intended use of the award): 50%.
The name of the winner will be communicated at the PBA 2024 Closing Ceremony on September 12, 2024.
